Mass Select Earns T.B.C. G-League East Title the Hard Way

Mass Select completed one of the most impressive runs through any division of he Basketball Circuit’s inaugural championships, winning four games and two days to claim the G-League Boys - East (10th/varsity) Division title. Mass Select Capped its impressive run by downing Honey Badgers 60-30 on Sunday, May 23.

Mass Select’s run to the title was powered by the trio of Jake Chaisson, Wes Larson and Aidan McGeary. To make it to the championship game, Mass Select had to gut out a nail-biter, 59-53, over One Dream (MA) in the opening round Saturday afternoon, before a 54-38 romp in the quarterfinals to ends the day. Mass Select then knocked off a well-rested, heavy-hitting One-Dream (NH) team coming off a bye in Sunday's semifinals, 58-50.

Throughout the tourney, Chaisson controlled the game and scored at a high level. Larson shot the ball well from all over the floor and was especially lethal from behind the arc. McGeary was Mass Select’s glue guy: he did all the little things to help them win, controlling the glass, taking charges and playing lock down defense all weekend.
